  • Volunteers will receive an email with additional details of their role.
  • If unable to attend briefing, please arrange to meet with Race Director in advance.

Course Marshalls

  • Marshalls are to arrive by 7:00am at their allocated course location or road closure point.
  • Immediately upon arrival at allocated location Marshalls should safely put road barriers in place to stop vehicles from entering course with all barriers in place by 7:05am.
  • Course must be closed to vehicle traffic and ready for when Course Logistics Manager does ride-through check from 7:35am.
  • From 7:00 am course detours and closures must be activated with marshalls ensuring vehicles do not enter course and advising alternate options.
  • During event, marshalls are to help runners and walkers stay on track using loud verbal instructions and hand gestures (e.g. “keep left”, “veer left” etc).
  • When last runners pass through, marshalls should move road closure barriers safely to side of road and leave post.

Water Station Volunteers

  • Water Station volunteers are required to set up the tables, bins, cups and water, restock during event and perform clean-up location post event.

Pilot Cyclist

  • The Pilot Cyclist cycles on ahead of the front runners to show them the way and to give marshalls and spectators advance warning that runners are heading their way.
  • They will also lead the way for the lead runner so it goes without saying that the Pilot Cyclist is an experienced rider who is comfortable with the course and terrain.
